Feb. 16th

Had another good day. Lowell and Pauline Eby came up to visit and we got to be with them for a while, had a good time! We got a little scared the first time we went into the NICU today, because they have "Contact Precautions" on his station, with gowns and gloves for anyone who touches him, but we were told that, because of his tests for infection, it was a precaution. Oh well, we still get to be there with him. He had an upper G.I. today to see if there were any leaks in his surgical repairs; the official word is not in, but we heard that his repairs look good! He had a good bowel movement tonight, which may not sound exciting to you, but it's a good sign for him, seeing that his bowels are functioning. That diaper was changed a little after midnight, which gives you an idea when we may still be over at the hospital! Some of his test results aren't in yet on genetics, etc., but mostly he seems to be doing pretty well. He had some fluid in his lungs tonight, and his oxygen saturation was down some, so they are going to give him a diuretic for the fluid, and a transfusion to bring up his oxygen sats. He was very alert this evening, looking all around with quick little eyes, and we enjoyed that alot! Well, for some reason the posting time on this program doesn't display correctly, because it's actually 1:19 A.M., time for me to sign off soon!
Thanks,
Rob

I noticed that, too, that the posting time is wrong. I sure hoped you guys didn't think I really put the children to bed at five or six in the evening. From the posting time we certainly appeared to have a whacky schedule (tho' sometimes it truly is)!
