Feb. 14th

We had vistitors today-Maynard & Mary Hostetler came and brought lunch; we got to visit them awhile, good to see home folks! Baby Nick is now breathing the same quality of air we do-21%. He still has the oxygen tube in, should he need it, and the breathing machine to keep pressure in his lungs while the oxygen tube is still in. That is great news to us! Because of his seizures or whatever they are, he had a head ultrasound- the results have not come back on that yet. They had to take some spinal fluid too, to see if he could have meningitis or something like that, causing his seizures. I don't think he's had any seizures since they have him on Phenobarb.
There is a condition that some babies with his circumstances have sometimes called tethered spine that, if he had had it, may have had to be repaired when he grew some. It could have also made the drawing of the spinal fluid more dangerous. They did a spinal ultrasound, and he doesn't have tethered spine! PTL! I just left the NICU a bit ago, and he was resting pretty good-his stats looked good too. For a while this evening, he was looking around and responding to sound, which is always good to be there for. Well, that's all I have to say for now....keep praying!
And thank you for all the support we've been having since we've been here!
Rob
